Salvation Belongs to the LORD (Psalm 3:1-8)

Brian So, July 29, 2018
Part of the Psalms series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Main Points:
Psalm 3 teaches us to do 3 things as we face afflictions and troubles and challenges in life.
1. Know who God is
2. Make him personal
3. Have confidence in Christ

Application Questions:
1. Have you experienced what King David went through, esp. betrayal and persecution from people who were close to him?
2. In what ways have you experienced God as your shield, your glory, the lifter of your head?
3. V5 David wrote, “I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.” What keeps you from resting at night? What does it look like for you to trust that God would sustain you in your situation?
4. If you are investigating the Christian faith, what is stopping you from making God personal to you? What is holding you from taking the plunge?
5. What does this psalm teach us about God’s covenant-love for us? How does Christ’s personal experience of this psalm—his death and resurrection—encourage/comfort you today?
